free is nice! I cherish the music more when they are a gift from someone. I sent that package to Larry Graves just over a week ago with some drawings and a few CDs and the look of gratitude on his face was worth every minute and every cent!
@@morrisgautreau6704 Gifts will always be more special because the person went out of their way in thought of you to hand pick something out/do something for you. Free is great as well. I'd prefer these not going in the trash or handed to someone at thrift shop to then be flipped online.
@@JJ-qs9hu Oh wow! That is awesome! I'm getting so into them recently. I really love their sound and all their stuff is really great. I only need 2 more albums of theirs. ✌🏻
Great video, love seeing the discs that you're saving from the landfill and giving a good home! I was the recipient of a friend and his wife's small CD collection around 2010, when his wife directed him to put all the CDs into iTunes and get rid of them. It was a mix of 90s alternative rock, classic rock from the 70s, and some Portuguese and Italian folk and pop. I kept some and sold some. Hope you enjoy those INXS discs -- I still pull their stuff out regularly and saw them live on the tours for "Kick," "X," and "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" -- always impressive and energetic. "Shabooh Shoobah" is probably my favorite of all and it's one of the handful of albums that I've owned on vinyl, cassette, and CD. By the way, that unusual package for "Welcome to Wherever You Are" was called an Eco-Pak and was displayed unfolded and turned on the short end to mimic the shape of the old longbox CDs from the 80s and to be displayed in the same bins as them with less waste. They didn't last for long, and I think the only other CD I have with one is "Infinity Within" by Deee-Lite. Also, I.R.S. reissued R.E.M.'s albums from their time on the label (1982-1987) in the late 90s with extra tracks from b-sides, soundtracks, and such under the series "The I.R.S. Years." That's why your other copy of "Lifes Rich Pageant" is a bit different. Another legendary band and one of my all-time favorites!
@@erics9511 I'm glad you were able to save those from a dumping ground as well. Thank you! No way, that's my favorite album by them too! I have it on cd and cassette. I would love to snag a vinyl copy soon. Ohhhh thank you for the clarification on the REM disc, that makes total sense and I guess I'm glad I have both copies now lol. Yeah REM is super good. Thanks for watching man! 😊✌🏻
